Rocket launch event guidelines:
-Bring water
-Do not catch falling rockets
-Hold rockets from the top when retrieving(do not grab near engine/bottom of the rockets)
-Do not add fireworks, projectiles, rocks etc to your payload
-Bringing pets is highly discouraged
-Rockets go up and we have very little control where they come down(keep this in mind when parking and standing near the launch site)
-In the event of a misfire: press the launch button a second time, Remove safety key, Wait 10-15sec then a new igniter will be placed
-Provide a 5sec countdown before launching each rocket
-Watch for snakes, trip hazards etc while retrieving rockets
-After launches it is recommended not to store rockets that have been fired in you home
-Our launch pad requires a guide(straw) about the size of a straw from Del Taco or we have a smaller 1/8” Estes size rod as of 9-23 or we have an extruded aluminum rail that is 1” x 5’
Guidelines to bring your own rockets:
-No projectiles, no confetti, no fireworks
-Nothing over G-size, stable is a plus, bring your own rocket = supply your own engine, queue up to launch with the other rockets.
Remember our sponsors don’t just help to pay for rockets, engines and raffle items. Guns4us allows us to use their range as a launch site (ridgecrest gun association range). Memberships to the range help provide upkeep for the land we use for the events. Without private land to launch these events would not be possible.
